HaptiMap mobile app competition

MobileExpired

This is a competition for mobile apps which demonstrate designs that can be used by a wide range of users and in a wide range of situations. The designs can make use of visual (on-screen) elements but they should also make use of non-visual interaction channels. The competition is open for new apps or updated apps using the HaptiMap toolkit.

HaptiMap is an EU funded project which aims to make maps and location-based services more accessible by using several senses like vision, hearing and particularly touch.

Winners will be announced at the HAID'12 workshop during 23-24 August 2012 held in Lund, Sweden.

The Winner will receive an award of €4000. Second place will receive a high end smartphone. Third place will receive a new tablet.

How to Respond

Submissions should include a download link, a one page description of the app plus source code (will be treated confidentially). All submissions should be in English. Partners in the HaptiMap project are excluded from participation and implementations shall be judged by a panel of international experts from the HaptiMap project on the following criteria.

  • Impact
  • Innovative use of multimodal interaction
  • Fit with the HaptiMap purpose

See HaptiMap website for further information.
